trackback
As reported yesterday, our first game down at beautiful Bright House Networks Field on Sunday was fantastic…until the 2nd inning. Kendrick got rocked again, and the Fightin’s went on to drop that one by a count of 9-4. Kendrick is showing Adam Eaton that he too, can be ridiculously awful with his paltry 16.43 ERA. On Monday the Phils took a bus to take on the ever exciting Pittsburgh Pirates. They lost, yet again, 8-5.
Some positive things are showing though, despite a 4-9-1 record this far. Ryan Howard has teed off on 3 long balls, that win in his arbitration hearing is most certainly a good thing: the big man looks to have his swing right where it was. Also, some of the new guys are looking pretty good. Pedro Feliz had a home run today and couples that with some pretty good fielding too (take note Wes Helms). Geoff Jenkins is still settling in, but he had a nice long at-bat late in Sunday’s game: he fouled off about 6 or 7 pitches to give the pitcher a fit. The Phils pitching staff, as noted, is looking shaky at best. So here’s to hoping they get it together tomorrow. We’ll be there to watch and take note.
So today, March 11, was the rare off-day for the Phillies. With no game to watch, we did what anybody would do: shot stuff with cool guns.

Yeah, that’s yours truly with a sweet-ass shotgun. I felt very powerful holding that, and the clay pigeons had no chance. I was all over them. Trap shooting is a ton of fun, I certainly recommend it to anyone. We were around some true shooters too. One guy was a big Elliot Spitzer fan. Entertaining stuff.
So, all in all…a day off means shooting stuff. Tomorrow though, we’ll be back at it. First, we’ll have an exclusive interview with Phils TV personality Chris Wheeler. After that, we’ll hit up the Tampa Hooters for dinner, and then soak in the Reds verses Phillies. We’ll post pictures, analysis, and more after the game.
So, enjoy the 40 degree weather and dreary rain, Philly. We’ll update you soon from sunny Tampa.
